Bless This House
The Irish are known for their blessings. It seems as though they had a blessing for everything-homes, people, celebrations, even mourning. Most of them are truly touching and beautiful. Although I am part Irish, I never really read many of them as a child. I have always loved poetry though, and after reading many of their beautiful traditional blessings recently, I wonder if it isn’t an inherent trait. We have several blessings in our shop, and I will blog others throughout the year. I particularly like the home blessings, since they make such great house warming gifts. After all, these are the kind of thing you like to receive, rather than buy for yourself.
